Description
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 10 board results for 2026 on April 15, recording an overall pass percentage of 93.70%. Girls outperformed boys with a pass rate of 94.99%, while boys secured 92.69%. Among the top achievers this year is Odisha’s Ayusman Mohapatra, who achieved a flawless 500 out of 500 marks, setting a remarkable benchmark for students nationwide. Ayusman Mohapatra’s perfect score Ayusman, a Class 10 student of Aditya Birla Public School, secured full marks under the “best of five” rule. He scored 100 marks each in English Language and Literature, Odia, Mathematics (Standard), Social Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Preparation journey and challenges Ayusman began his focused preparation in April and maintained a consistent study routine of 2–3 hours daily. Despite his excellent performance, he found Social Science to be the most challenging subject due to its extensive syllabus. Instead of following a rigid timetable, he focused on effective time management and consistency in studies. Study techniques that worked According to Ayusman, the most effective strategies included regular practice through sample papers and previous year questions (PYQs), attempting tests in proper answer sheet formats, and continuous self-assessment through mock tests. He emphasized that while PYQs are useful, students should not rely entirely on them, as CBSE is increasingly introducing competency-based questions. Role of online learning Ayusman credited platforms like PhysicsWallah for helping him build strong concepts. He joined their program in Class 9, where teachers encouraged conceptual clarity and consistent effort rather than focusing only on results. Managing distractions and staying focused To stay disciplined, Ayusman avoided social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. He did not own a personal phone and used a basic device strictly for study purposes. Instead of spending time on games like Free Fire, he occasionally engaged in light activities such as football or puzzle games to relax. Handling pressure and staying motivated Ayusman shared that he never felt overwhelmed by expectations. His family played a key role in maintaining a supportive environment. His parents encouraged effort over results, his mother and grandfather supported him during late-night study sessions, and his father reassured him that marks were not the ultimate priority. Advice for students Ayusman’s key tips include focusing on the learning process rather than results, studying NCERT thoroughly and then going beyond basics, practicing regularly without over-dependence on past papers, maintaining a balanced routine with extracurricular activities, and staying positive without taking pressure. Future goals Looking ahead, Ayusman has chosen the PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) stream in Class 11. He aims to crack the NEET exam and pursue a career in medicine, with the goal of becoming a doctor. Ayusman Mohapatra’s achievement highlights that consistency, clarity of concepts, and a stress-free mindset are key to excelling in board examinations.
