Description

The counselling process for Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate 2026 has begun after the results were announced on April 24, 2026 by the National Testing Agency. This marks the start of admissions for nearly 5 lakh candidates seeking postgraduate programmes across participating universities.

However, many candidates are still facing issues accessing their scorecards due to technical glitches on the NTA login portal. As a result, several students are unable to download their results and are waiting for the system to stabilize.

University-level counselling process

Unlike a centralized admission system, CUET PG counselling is conducted individually by each participating university. Candidates must register separately on the official admission portal of their chosen university.

During registration, applicants are required to upload necessary documents such as academic certificates, identity proof, and other records specified by the respective universities for eligibility and merit evaluation.

After document verification, universities will prepare merit lists and invite shortlisted candidates for further admission rounds.

Counselling updates and portal issues

While universities have started releasing counselling notifications, each institution is following its own schedule for registration and seat allocation. Meanwhile, students continue to report difficulties in accessing their CUET PG scorecards due to ongoing technical issues on the NTA website.

What candidates should do next

Students are advised to keep all essential documents ready, including academic transcripts and identity proofs, to ensure a smooth verification process during counselling.

Each university will separately publish detailed guidelines for admission, so candidates should regularly check the official websites for updates regarding schedules, merit lists, and document verification.

Admission process overview

Admissions based on CUET PG 2026 scores will be conducted across 198 universities, including central, state, government, and private institutions.

Since NTA’s role is limited to conducting the exam and declaring results, the entire counselling and admission process is managed at the university level. Candidates must stay updated through individual university portals for complete information on counselling rounds and final seat allotment.
