The Directorate of Education Delhi has already declared the first computerised lottery result for EWS DG CWSN Admissions 2026-27 on April 6, 2026. This draw covered admissions under the EWS, DG, and CWSN categories for the 2026–27 academic session. At present, the document verification process is ongoing, and attention has now shifted to the expected second merit list.

Expected release of second merit list

The second merit list has not been officially scheduled yet, but it is anticipated after the completion of the current verification phase. As per the admission timeline, it is unlikely to be released before April 22, 2026. The exact date will depend on the availability of vacant seats after verification is completed.

This second draw will be conducted only after the first round outcomes are fully processed, including cases of non-reporting and document rejection. It is meant to allocate remaining seats to eligible candidates.

Why the delay is expected

Document verification for candidates selected in the first round is being carried out from April 9 to April 22, 2026. A second opportunity for verification will be provided from April 23 to April 28, 2026 for those who miss the initial window.

Since seat vacancies can only be confirmed after this process, releasing the second list earlier would not be practical. Any earlier dates being circulated are not officially confirmed by the department.

Eligibility and further process

For admission under the EWS category, the family income must be below ?5 lakh per year. Accepted documents include ration card, domicile certificate, voter ID, utility bills, or passport as valid residence proof.

If any discrepancies are found, candidates can submit corrected documents until May 2, 2026. After scrutiny between May 4 and May 6, authorities will issue formal decisions. Appeals can be submitted from May 7 to May 12, 2026, and final orders will be completed by May 16, 2026. School admissions are expected to conclude by May 20, 2026.

Administrative setup

A total of 29 zonal teams across 15 districts have been assigned to manage the process. Each team includes a zonal Deputy Director of Education, a senior official, and data entry operators under district-level supervision. Help desks have also been set up to assist parents and applicants.

How to check the result

Parents can check the allotment status on the official website of the edudel.nic.in by entering the application ID or registration number along with the date of birth.

Selected candidates will also receive SMS notifications on their registered mobile numbers. Updates regarding the second merit list will be made available on the official admission portal.
