The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has announced its recruitment drive for 2026, inviting applications for Diploma Trainee and several other non-executive posts. Out of the 668 positions, some are also available under Central Transmission Utility of India Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PGCIL.

Eligibility criteria

• Diploma Trainee: Full-time three-year diploma in relevant engineering fields such as Electrical, Civil, or Survey from a recognized institute.

• Junior Officer Trainee (HR): Graduation in BBA, BBM, or equivalent.

• Junior Officer Trainee (Finance & Accounts): Intermediate qualification in CA or CMA.

• Junior Technician Trainee (Survey): Two-year ITI certificate in Surveyor trade.

Age limit

Applicants must not exceed 27 years of age as of May 11, 2026. Relaxations for reserved categories will be applicable as per government rules.

Selection process

The recruitment process will consist of:

• Written test or Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• Skill or trade test (where required)

• Pre-employment medical examination

The written exam will include objective-type questions focusing on technical knowledge and aptitude.

Application fee

• Rs 300 for Diploma Trainee and Junior Officer Trainee posts

• Rs 200 for Junior Technician Trainee (Survey)
  Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.
