The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is set to implement a new three-tier security system for the State Service and Forest Service Preliminary Examination 2026. The move aims to strengthen exam security and improve transparency in the recruitment process.

Over 1.34 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the State Service Prelims on April 26, with the exam being conducted across more than 500 centres in 54 districts of the state.

Strict Entry and Reporting Rules

As per the revised guidelines, candidates must report to their examination centres at least 90 minutes before the exam begins. Entry will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of the examination. Officials stated that the additional time is required to complete verification and security procedures in an organised manner.

Three Levels of Security Check

The new system will operate in three stages:

First level – Document verification:
Admit cards will be checked and matched with candidate photographs before entry is allowed.

Second level – Physical frisking:
Candidates will undergo security checks using metal detectors and manual inspection to prevent the entry of electronic devices or any unfair means.

Third level – Biometric authentication:
This includes fingerprint verification, QR code scanning, facial recognition, iris scanning, and digital signature matching to confirm identity and prevent impersonation.

Enhanced Monitoring with Technology

MPPSC Chairman Rajesh Lal Mehra stated that the upgraded system will make examinations more secure, transparent, and reliable. He added that the use of advanced technology will significantly reduce the chances of malpractice.

All examination halls will also be equipped with CCTV surveillance, with live monitoring linked to a central control room at the commission’s headquarters to track activities in real time.

Recruitment Overview

MPPSC conducts more than 25 examinations annually. For 2026, recruitment has been announced for 155 State Service posts and 36 Forest Service posts, with the possibility of additional vacancies depending on departmental requirements.

Officials indicated that this advanced security model may be adopted for other examinations in the future.
