The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the examination schedule for the Constable (GD) recruitment 2026. As per the official notification, the examination for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles will be conducted between April 27, 2026, and the end of May 2026 at various centres across the country.

Preference for Exam Week Introduced

This year, SSC has introduced a new “week preference” option to make the process more convenient for candidates. Through this facility, applicants can choose their preferred examination window based on their availability.

To use this feature, candidates must log in to the official SSC portal using their credentials and rank their preference among the four available exam weeks.

Exam Schedule in Four Phases

The examination will be conducted in four separate weekly slots:

• Week 1: April 27 to May 2, 2026

• Week 2: May 4 to May 9, 2026

• Week 3: May 18 to May 23, 2026

• Week 4: May 25 to May 30, 2026

The option to submit preferences was opened on April 11, 2026, at 3 PM and will remain available until April 15, 2026, up to 5 PM. Candidates must complete the selection process within this deadline, as failure to do so may result in the Commission assigning exam dates automatically without considering individual choice.
