Description

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is currently reviewing complaints regarding possible errors in the Chemistry section of the JEE Main Session 2 2026 conducted on April 5, 2026. The issue has been reported mainly for the Shift 2 exam, raising concerns among students and educators.

NTA advises candidates to pause payment for challenges

In response to the situation, NTA has requested candidates not to pay any fee for challenging the Chemistry answer key until an official clarification is released. In a public statement shared on social media, the agency said that the reported discrepancies are under verification and that further updates will be provided soon. It also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.

Student reactions

After the issue surfaced, many students, parents, and educators expressed frustration on social media. Several candidates raised concerns about fairness and transparency, stating that such errors create unnecessary stress after years of preparation. Some users demanded accountability and a prompt correction of the answer key.

Provisional answer key already released

The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 (Paper 1 – BE/BTech) was released on April 11, 2026. Along with it, the response sheets and objection window were also made available on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can log in using their credentials to view their answers and raise objections if required.

Objection process and final answer key

Candidates who wish to challenge the provisional answer key must pay a non-refundable fee of ?200 per question. However, students have been advised to wait for official clarification regarding the April 5 Shift 2 Chemistry section before submitting objections.
