• For JEE Main 2026, there is no upper age limit set by the NTA.

• Candidates must have completed their Class 12th (or equivalent) qualifying examination.

• Age relaxation rules are not applicable as the exam itself does not restrict age, but institutions may have their own policies for admissions.

3. Number of Attempts

• Each candidate can attempt JEE Main for 3 consecutive years from the year they pass their Class 12th exam.

• Starting from 2024, NTA conducts JEE Main twice a year (Session 1: January, Session 2: April).

• Therefore, candidates can attempt a maximum of 6 times (2 attempts per year × 3 years).

4. Nationality Criteria

• Indian nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2026.

• Candidates need to provide valid nationality documents at the time of registration.

• Candidates with compartment exams in Class 12 can also apply if they clear the qualifying exams before admission.

• There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the JEE Advanced exam, but candidates must first clear the JEE Main eligibility for admissions to IITs.
