Description

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important notice for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET UG 2026) on April 7, 2026. The advisory addresses issues related to mismatched photographs in application forms.

Photo mismatch issue identified

During scrutiny of application data, NTA found that some candidates who used identity documents other than Aadhaar had discrepancies in their photographs. Specifically, the live images captured during registration did not match the photographs available in the records of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Steps for identity verification

To resolve this issue, affected candidates are required to verify their identity by submitting a signed and attested certificate along with a recent passport-size photograph. This photograph must be certified by the principal or head of the candidate’s school or college.

Alternative attestation options

If candidates are unable to get verification from their educational institution, they can opt for attestation from a Gazetted Officer, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), or Member of Parliament (MP).

Submission deadline

The facility to upload the required documents is available from April 7 to April 10, 2026, until 10:00 PM. Candidates must complete the process within this timeframe. The certificate and photograph should be combined into a single PDF file and uploaded through the official correction portal provided by NTA.

Candidates are advised to carefully complete the verification process to avoid any complications during the examination. They should also regularly visit the official website for the latest updates.

For any assistance, candidates can contact the NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 or reach out via the official support email.

The advisory has been issued to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and to prevent identity verification issues on the exam day. Candidates are encouraged to follow all instructions carefully and complete the required steps within the deadline.
