GPAT 2026 Qualifying Criteria
According to Clause 10.8 of the GPAT 2026 information bulletin, candidates qualify only if they meet both percentile and merit-based requirements. The minimum qualifying percentiles are as follows:
General/EWS: 50th percentile
OBC/SC/ST: 45th percentile
PwBD (all categories): 45th percentile
Additionally, candidates must rank within the top 10% of total test-takers. This year, out of 53,617 candidates, 5,362 have qualified, subject to applicable reservation policies.
GPAT 2026 Rank and Tie-Breaking
The GPAT rank reflects a candidate’s overall merit among all exam takers. If two or more candidates obtain the same score, tie-breaking rules specified in the official bulletin are applied. These rules consider relative performance metrics and other predefined evaluation criteria.
Answer Key Revisions and Evaluation Updates
After the provisional answer key was released on March 13, 2026, NBEMS reviewed objections raised by candidates with subject experts. Key updates include:
7 questions were deemed technically incorrect; all candidates received full marks regardless of attempts
4 answers were revised after expert evaluation
The final answer key has been prepared and used for calculating results. Candidates can access the post-challenge question paper and final answer keys from April 15, 2026, via their applicant login on the NBEMS website.
Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates who have qualified can now proceed with MPharm admissions and scholarship applications, as institutions will use GPAT scores to prepare admission lists and cut-offs. NBEMS advises all candidates to regularly check the official portal for updates on scorecards, counselling schedules, and institutional admission timelines.
