The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has set April 2, 2026, as the final date to complete online registration for Class 1 and Balvatika admissions for the 2026–27 academic session. Candidates who have not yet applied are advised to submit their forms before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

The application process for entry-level classes began on March 20, 2026, and is being conducted entirely online. For higher classes, admissions will follow a mixed mode depending on seat availability. Authorities have also confirmed that document verification will be carried out strictly during the admission process.

Admission schedules have already been released, with the first merit list for Balvatika scheduled for April 8 and Class 1 on April 9. The second and third lists will be announced on April 16 and April 21, respectively.

Admission Schedule and Important Dates

The KVS admission process includes multiple stages. Key dates are:

• Last date to apply for Class 1 & Balvatika: April 2, 2026

• First merit list (Balvatika): April 8, 2026

• First merit list (Class 1): April 9, 2026

• Second merit list: April 16, 2026

• Third merit list: April 21, 2026

Offline registration for Classes 2 and above will be conducted from April 2 to April 8. Admissions for these classes will take place between April 15 and April 20, depending on seat availability. The final deadline for all admissions (except Class 11) is June 30, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Age eligibility is calculated as of March 31, 2026:

• Balvatika-1: 3 to 4 years

• Balvatika-2: 4 to 5 years

• Balvatika-3: 5 to 6 years

• Class 1: Minimum 6 years

Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.

Admission Process

For Class 1 and Balvatika, admissions will be conducted through a lottery system, and applications are accepted only online. Multiple merit lists will be released for selection.

Admissions for Classes 2 to 8 will be conducted offline if seats remain vacant, and forms must be submitted at the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya. Admission to Classes 9 and 11 will depend on seat availability, with Class 11 admissions based on Class 10 results.

Reservation and Priority Criteria

Reservation is implemented as per government norms:

• SC: 15%

• ST: 7.5%

• OBC (NCL): 27%

• CwSN: 3% (horizontal reservation)

Priority is given to children of Central Government employees, followed by PSU, autonomous body staff, state government employees, and others. Transfer history is also considered during admission.

• Birth certificate

• Address proof

• Caste certificate (if applicable)

• Service certificate

• Disability certificate (if applicable)

Incorrect information may lead to cancellation of admission, and submission of the application does not guarantee a seat.
