The National Institute of Design (NID) has announced the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims 2026 result for the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their scorecards by logging in to the official admissions portal.

The NID DAT Prelims exam was conducted on December 21, 2025, and marks the first stage of the selection process.

Rechecking Window Opens

Candidates who are not satisfied with their results can apply for rechecking:

• Start: April 2, 2026 (from 4 PM)

• Last date: April 4, 2026 (till 11:59 PM)

Applicants must submit their requests within this period through the official website.

Steps to Download NID DAT Prelims Result 2026

• First visit the official website.

• Now click on the NID BDes Prelims Result 2026.

• Enter email ID and date of birth.

• View and download the scorecard.

• Save a copy for future reference.

What Happens Next?

Candidates who qualify in the prelims will be shortlisted for the NID DAT Mains exam. As per guidelines, candidates are shortlisted in a ratio of 1.5 times the available seats.

The mains stage includes:

• Studio Test

• Personal Interaction (offline)

Final selection will be based solely on performance in the mains examination.
