Description

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an official notification regarding the second Class 10 Board Examination 2026 on its website. According to the announcement, the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for this exam will take place in three distinct stages.

In the first stage, schools are required to submit only the LOC details without paying any fee. This step is meant to help CBSE estimate how many students are likely to appear for the second examination and to plan accordingly.

During the second and third stages, students will have the opportunity to confirm their participation by making necessary changes such as adding or removing subjects or even withdrawing their candidature. At this point, the prescribed examination fee must be paid to finalize the LOC. All these procedures will be handled through the same school from which the student appeared in the main board examination.

CBSE has also clarified that if a student completes the LOC submission and pays the examination fee but later decides not to appear for the second exam, their result will be based on their performance in the main examination.

Additionally, the Board has taken note of complaints about certain schools demanding extra charges, such as three months’ tuition fees, during the LOC submission process. CBSE has clearly stated that such practices are against its regulations and must stop immediately.

The Board has issued strict guidelines for schools:

  • Schools must not collect any extra or unauthorized charges related to LOC submission.

  • Only the official examination fee mentioned in the LOC circular is allowed.

  • All institutions must strictly follow CBSE rules and immediately discontinue any practices that violate these guidelines. Non-compliance will invite serious action.
