Description
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has started the online application process for WB ANM & GNM 2026. Candidates interested in pursuing nursing diploma courses in West Bengal can apply through the official portal beginning March 25, 2026.
The board has also released the detailed information bulletin outlining the admission process for Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised) and General Nursing & Midwifery programmes. The ANM course has a duration of two years, while the GNM course spans three years. Admissions will be offered in both government and private institutions across the state.
Application Timeline and Correction Facility
The application process will remain open until April 19, 2026. Candidates will get a chance to edit certain details and download the updated confirmation page between April 21 and April 23, 2026. However, key details such as name, date of birth, parents’ names, and domicile cannot be modified after submission.
The official notification was released on March 24, 2026, and applicants are advised to complete the process within the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

Admit Card and Exam Pattern
Admit cards will be available from June 4, 2026, and can be downloaded until the exam day. The entrance test will be held offline using OMR sheets in a single shift.
The question paper will include two categories:
Category 1: 85 questions (1 mark each)
Category 2: 15 questions (2 marks each)
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in Category 1.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee
For ANM courses, only female candidates are eligible, while both male and female candidates can apply for GNM courses. Applicants must have passed Class 12 with at least 40% marks from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates should be able to read, write, and communicate in Bengali and/or Nepali. There is no upper age limit specified.
The application fee is Rs 300 for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, and orphan candidates, while others need to pay Rs 400. Payment can be made through online methods such as net banking, debit/credit cards, QR, or UPI.

Subjects and Result
The examination will cover Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematics, Basic English, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. A total of 100 questions will be asked, carrying 115 marks.
The result will be declared later, as per the schedule announced by the board.
