Description
The Board of Secondary Education Uttar Pradesh has announced a temporary suspension in the evaluation process for the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) examinations of 2026. As per the official notice issued on March 20, 2026, the answer sheet checking process, which started on March 18 and is scheduled to continue until April 1, will be paused on the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Ram Navami.
This decision has been taken to respect important religious celebrations falling during the evaluation period. District School Inspectors across Uttar Pradesh have been directed to ensure that all evaluation centres follow the instructions properly.
Evaluation Schedule Remains Unchanged
The overall evaluation timeline, running from March 18 to April 1, 2026, remains the same. Only specific days have been marked for suspension, while the checking process continues as planned at centres across the state for both Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets.
No Evaluation on Festival Days
According to the notice, evaluation work will not take place on March 21, 2026, due to Eid-ul-Fitr (subject to moon sighting), and again on March 26, 2026, on account of Ram Navami. These breaks have been introduced so that examiners and staff can observe the festivals without any work-related obligations.
Directions to District Authorities
The official circular, signed by Secretary Bhagwati Singh, has been sent to District School Inspectors in all districts of Uttar Pradesh. They have been instructed to strictly enforce the temporary halt at all designated evaluation centres on the specified dates.
Effect on Result Declaration
Although the evaluation will pause for two days, the overall schedule is expected to remain on track. The board aims to complete the checking process within the planned timeframe, so any impact on the result declaration is likely to be minimal.
