The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the correction window for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) 2026 application form will open on March 12. This facility allows candidates who have already registered to edit certain details in their submitted applications.
The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST). The test will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper) at examination centres across India as well as in select international locations.
Limited-time correction window
As per the notice issued by the National Testing Agency, the application correction facility will start on March 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Registered candidates will be able to access the portal and make permitted edits until March 14, 2026, at 11:50 PM.
Applicants have been advised to log in to the official NEET portal and carefully review the information they provided earlier. If any mistakes or incomplete details are found, candidates should correct them within the given timeframe.
NTA clarified that this is a one-time opportunity for candidates to fix errors in their forms so that they do not face problems during later stages of the admission process. No requests for changes will be accepted after the correction window closes.
Details that can be edited
According to the official notification, candidates may update information related to either their father or mother. Editable details include the parent’s name, educational qualification, and occupation.
Apart from parental information, several other sections of the form can also be revised. These include:
Academic details for Class 10 and Class 12
The State or Union Territory where the Class 12 or equivalent examination was passed or will be attempted
Category, sub-category, or PwD status
Candidate’s signature
Number of previous attempts at the examination
Candidates will also have the option to change their exam city preference and medium of examination, depending on the permanent and present addresses mentioned in the form.
Additionally, applicants who initially registered using identity documents other than Aadhaar may update their identity details during this correction period.

Fee adjustments and support
The National Testing Agency stated that any changes that affect the application fee will require candidates to pay the additional amount before the corrections are finalized. If the updated information leads to a higher fee, the extra payment must be completed.
However, if an applicant pays more than required during the process, the excess amount will not be refunded.
Once candidates submit the corrected form, the application will be locked, and no further modifications will be allowed.
For any queries related to the examination, candidates may contact the NTA helpdesk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or visit the official NEET website.
