A controversy surfaced after the CBSE Class 12 Mathematics board exam when some students claimed that scanning a QR code printed on the question paper opened a YouTube video.

The claim quickly went viral on social media, raising doubts among students and parents about the authenticity of the exam paper.

CBSE says question paper is authentic

In response, CBSE issued an official clarification stating that the question paper is genuine and the security of the examination has not been compromised.

The board explained that question papers include multiple security features, including QR codes, which help authorities verify the authenticity of the paper in case of a suspected breach.

According to CBSE, in a few sets of the exam paper, scanning one of the QR codes appeared to redirect users to a YouTube video, which triggered confusion among students.

However, the board reiterated that the incident does not affect the authenticity or security of the examination.

CBSE said the issue has been taken seriously and necessary steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

Officials also assured that the board exam system already has multiple layers of security to protect question papers.
