These steps are expected to reduce import dependence and reinforce supply chains for renewable energy and advanced technologies.

Excise Duty Relief for Biogas-CNG Blends

The Budget proposes that the full value of biogas be excluded when calculating central excise duty on biogas-blended compressed natural gas. This measure is intended to make biogas blending more cost-effective, promoting cleaner fuel use and supporting urban and rural waste-to-energy initiatives.

Regional Development and Industrial Expansion

The government also outlined plans for an integrated East Coast Industrial Corridor with a hub at Durgapur. Additional initiatives include the creation of five tourism destinations across Poorvodaya states, deployment of 4,000 electric buses, and development of Buddhist heritage sites in the northeast. The Budget also emphasizes rationalizing customs duty exemptions for products that are already manufactured domestically or have minimal imports.
