Description
The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened the online application process for the recruitment of Circle Based Officers (CBO). Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through SBI’s official website. Through this recruitment drive, the bank aims to fill a total of 2,050 vacancies.
The registration window began on January 29, 2026, and will remain open until February 18, 2026. Candidates can find details regarding eligibility, selection procedure, and application fees below.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government, including Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) programmes. Candidates with professional qualifications such as Engineering, Medical degrees, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy are also eligible to apply.
In terms of age, candidates should be between 21 and 30 years as on December 31, 2025. This means applicants must have been born on or after January 1, 1996, and on or before December 31, 2004 (both dates inclusive).
Selection Procedure
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages, including an online examination, screening, and a personal interview.
The online examination will consist of:
Objective Test carrying 120 marks
Descriptive Test carrying 50 marks
The descriptive paper will be held immediately after the objective test. Candidates will be required to type their responses on a computer.
The descriptive test duration is 30 minutes and will assess English language skills through letter writing and essay writing, comprising two questions for a total of 50 marks. There will be no sectional cut-off, and qualifying marks will be determined based on the overall score as decided by the bank.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750. Applicants from the SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempted from paying the fee.
The payment can be made online using debit card, credit card, or internet banking. Any additional transaction charges applicable to online payments will have to be borne by the candidates.
