The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the marks and rank positions for the Combined Technical Services Examination 2025 on its official website. The results have been made available in an interactive format, allowing candidates to check their individual performance by logging in with their credentials.
As stated in the official notification, the marks and ranks have been compiled based on candidates’ performance in the written examination, strictly following the guidelines mentioned in the recruitment advertisement. The examination was conducted for Non-Interview posts under the Combined Technical Services category.
Examination Details and Candidate Participation
The open competitive examination was held to fill 1,097 vacancies across various technical departments. The written test consisted of two compulsory papers and was conducted in multiple sessions on August 4–10, 2025, and later on August 17 and 18, 2025.
The examination was conducted using a combination of OMR-based testing, Computer-Based Test (CBT), and descriptive formats. A total of 51,918 candidates appeared for the examination.
Criteria for Merit List and Rank Preparation
The merit list has been prepared based on the aggregate marks scored in the written examination. For ranking purposes, marks obtained in Part B and Part C of Paper I, along with Paper II, were taken into consideration.
In cases where multiple candidates secured the same total marks, TNPSC followed a structured tie-breaking procedure. Preference was first given to candidates with higher educational qualifications. If qualifications were identical, older candidates were ranked higher. In situations where both marks and age were the same, priority was determined based on the earlier application number.
Selection Process and Counselling
Final selection will be made according to the total marks secured in the written examination, subject to the rule of reservation. Candidates will be invited to participate in counselling, wherever applicable, based on their rank in the published list.
The official press note announcing the results was issued on January 23, 2026, and was signed by A. Shanmuga Sundaram, I.A.S., Controller of Examinations, TNPSC.
