The Himachal Pradesh Board of Technical Education (HPBTE) has released the tentative schedule for the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2026 and the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) 2026. Aspirants seeking admission to diploma programmes in government and private polytechnic colleges across Himachal Pradesh can now review the key details related to these entrance examinations.

According to the information shared by the board, the HP PAT 2026 examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026. The HP LEET 2026 examination is expected to take place on May 24, 2026. These entrance tests are conducted for admission into the first semester through PAT and directly into the third semester through LEET in various diploma courses offered by polytechnic institutions in the state.

Exam schedule and timings

As per the official notice, the HP PAT 2026 exam will be conducted from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Meanwhile, the HP LEET 2026 exam will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Candidates are advised to report to their respective exam centres well before the scheduled time.

Application timeline

The board has also indicated the tentative application schedule for both examinations. The online application process for HP PAT 2026 is expected to begin in March 2026, while registrations for HP LEET 2026 are likely to start in April 2026. Eligible candidates will be able to submit their application forms through the official website, hptechboard.com, once the forms are released.

HP PAT 2026 eligibility criteria

The HP PAT examination is conducted annually for admission to polytechnic institutes affiliated with HPBTE. These institutes are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also include recognised Industrial Training Institutes approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board with a minimum of 35 per cent marks. Students appearing in the Class 10 final examination are also eligible to apply, subject to verification of their eligibility during the admission process. Additionally, applicants must be domiciles of Himachal Pradesh.

Candidates are advised to carefully read the detailed notification once it is released and confirm that they meet all eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.
