Odisha is increasingly becoming a prominent destination for international higher education, with the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) ranked as the fifth-best university in India for attracting foreign students. Despite being located in a Tier-II city, KIIT hosts over 2,000 international students from nearly 70 countries, representing the largest concentration of foreign students in eastern India. The university also maintains a robust global alumni network of more than 5,000 international graduates, strengthening its reputation as a globally connected institution.

In the current academic session, KIIT has welcomed around 350 international visiting faculty members and PhD scholars from top global institutions, including Harvard University, MIT, the University of Washington, City University of New York, and the University of Virginia.
