The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the examination timetable for the first stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I) under recruitment notification CEN 05/2025. The schedule applies to candidates competing for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) across various RRB zones.

As stated in the notification issued by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, the CBT-I will be conducted in multiple shifts over several days during February and March 2026 to fill a total of 2,570 vacancies.

CBT-I Exam Dates and Recruitment Details

According to the released schedule, the first stage CBT for CEN 05/2025 will take place on February 19, 2026, February 20, 2026, and March 3, 2026. The examination will be held for shortlisted candidates applying for JE, DMS, and CMA posts.

Exam City Information and Admit Card Release

RRBs have confirmed that the exam city intimation link, along with exam date details and SC/ST travel authority download facility, will be activated 10 days prior to the respective exam date on the official RRB websites. The e-call letters (admit cards) will be made available four days before the exam date mentioned in the city intimation.

Aadhaar Verification Guidelines

On the examination day, Aadhaar-based biometric verification will be conducted at the exam centre before entry into the examination hall. Candidates must carry either their original Aadhaar card or a printout of e-verified Aadhaar for identity verification.

RRBs have also advised candidates to ensure that their Aadhaar is unlocked in the UIDAI system, even if Aadhaar authentication was completed during the application process, to avoid any technical issues during verification on the exam day.

Application Timeline and Salary Details

The recruitment notification for RRB JE posts under CEN 05/2025 was issued on September 29, 2025. The online application window remained open from October 31, 2025, to December 10, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,570 vacancies, offering a Level-6 pay scale with a starting basic salary of Rs 35,400 per month.
