Description
Delhi University (DU) has released its official prospectus for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2026–27, providing detailed information on eligibility, subject requirements, and the admission process. The comprehensive information bulletin is available on the university’s official admission portal.
Admissions Based on CUET UG 2026 Scores
As per the prospectus, admission to all undergraduate programmes at DU will be conducted exclusively through CUET UG 2026 scores. The university confirmed that there are no significant changes in the admission rules compared to the previous year, and existing subject eligibility criteria will continue to apply.
It is clarified that the CUET UG 2026 requirement applies to all regular undergraduate courses, while admissions to the School of Open Learning (SOL), the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), and foreign nationals are exempt.
Candidates are required to appear in CUET UG subjects corresponding to their Class 12 subjects. Students cannot apply for a subject they did not study in their qualifying examination, in line with DU’s established admission policy.
Class 12 Subject Requirement
Although CUET UG 2026 allows candidates to attempt subjects not studied in Class 12, Delhi University does not provide this flexibility. Applicants will only be considered for admission to subjects studied at the Class 12 level, and the university’s rules override general CUET UG provisions.
Subject Equivalence and Syllabus Matching
For cases where a Class 12 subject is not directly listed among CUET UG subjects, candidates must choose a closely related CUET UG subject. For example, a student who studied Biochemistry in Class 12 will have to appear for Biology in CUET UG 2026.
To determine equivalence, at least 50% of the syllabus must match between the Class 12 subject and the CUET UG subject. The university reserves the right to decide equivalence, and its decision will be final.

No Changes in DU Subject Combinations
DU has confirmed that the subject combinations under List A and List B remain unchanged from the previous year. Applicants are advised to carefully consult these lists while selecting CUET UG subject combinations for admission.
The university has encouraged students to refer to the official prospectus and information bulletin on its admission portal for complete details on eligibility, subject mapping, and the admission process.
