Description
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important notice for students intending to appear for the NEET UG 2026 examination. The advisory has been issued prior to the start of the registration process and urges candidates to verify and update essential documents to prevent complications during application and admission stages.
The notice was published on January 5, 2026, and highlights key requirements related to Aadhaar details, disability documentation, and category certificates.
Aadhaar Information Should Be Accurate
NTA has instructed all NEET UG 2026 applicants to ensure that the information on their Aadhaar Card is correct and up to date. The Aadhaar details must exactly match the data entered in the NEET application form.
Candidates should carefully verify the following Aadhaar details:
Name
Date of birth
Gender
Photograph
Address
Biometric details, where applicable
If any discrepancy is found, candidates must update their Aadhaar information at the earliest. Corrections can be made through the UIDAI official website (uidai.gov.in) or by visiting an authorised Aadhaar enrolment or update centre. NTA has clarified that accurate Aadhaar data will help avoid application rejection or verification issues at later stages.
Advisory for Candidates with Disabilities
Applicants seeking benefits under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category have been advised to use only a valid and updated disability certificate. The agency has cautioned against using an expired or unrenewed Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, as it may lead to problems during document verification.
Category Certificates Must Be Valid
Candidates applying under reserved categories such as EWS and OBC-NCL must ensure that their certificates are valid and issued according to the prescribed norms. Students are advised to keep all category-related documents ready and updated before filling out the NEET UG 2026 application form.
Upcoming NEET UG 2026 Updates
The registration schedule and examination dates for NEET UG 2026 will be announced shortly. Aspirants are advised to regularly visit the official NTA websites for the latest notifications and instructions related to the examination.
