Description
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will close the online registration for the General Duty (GD) Constable Recruitment 2026 on December 31, 2026. Eligible candidates who have not yet applied must complete their registration on the official website, ssc.gov.in.
The application process began on December 1, 2025, and the last date to pay the application fee online is January 1, 2026. A correction window will be available from January 8 to January 10, 2026, allowing candidates to make any necessary modifications in their submitted forms. The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is expected to be conducted between February and April 2026.
SSC GD Constable 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board on or before January 1, 2026.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 23 years. Age relaxation is provided for reserved category candidates as per government rules.

The recruitment process will include the following stages:
Computer Based Examination (CBE)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)
Medical Examination
Document Verification
Final selection will be based on performance in exams, physical tests, medical fitness, and fulfillment of eligibility criteria, along with the candidate’s preference for the force.
SSC GD Constable 2026: Exam Pattern
The CBE consists of 80 objective-type questions totaling 160 marks.
Duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
Subjects include General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi.
Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
