The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2025. The outcome has been released in the form of a merit list and is available on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.

According to the official notification, 535 candidates have cleared the written examination and have been shortlisted to appear for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.

Gender-wise Selection Details

Out of the total shortlisted candidates:

• 473 are male candidates

• 62 are female candidates

These candidates will be considered for admission to various defence training academies for courses commencing in 2026.

Defence Academies Covered Under CDS (I) 2025

Candidates shortlisted through the CDS (I) 2025 examination are eligible for training at the following institutions:

• Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun – 123rd Short Service Commission Course (Men)

• Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala

• Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad – Flying Branch Training

• Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai –

  • 37th Short Service Commission (Men) Course

  • 31st Short Service Commission (Women – Non-Technical) Course

As per government data, the total vacancies include 275 posts for Short Service Commission (Men) and 18 posts for Short Service Commission (Women – Non-Technical).

Important Information for Candidates

• The declared result is provisional in nature.

• Medical examination outcomes have not been considered at this stage.

• Final selection will depend on medical fitness and eligibility verification.

• Educational qualifications will be verified by the concerned Service Headquarters.

• Individual marks will be published after the final result declaration.

Scorecard and Candidate Support

Once released, candidates will be able to view their scorecards and details of non-recommended candidates on the UPSC portal. UPSC has also set up a facilitation counter at its New Delhi campus for candidates who require additional assistance.
