The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the official timeline for JEE Advanced 2026, the national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode (CBT) on May 17, 2026, as per the notified schedule.

JEE Advanced 2026 Registration Timeline

The online application process for JEE Advanced 2026 will begin in April 2026. Separate registration windows have been provided for Foreign Nationals / OCI / PIO candidates and for Indian candidates who qualify JEE Main 2026.

  April 6, 2026 (10:00 AM) to May 2, 2026 (11:59 PM)

• Registration for JEE Main 2026 qualified Indian candidates:

• Last date for fee payment:
  May 4, 2026 (11:59 PM)

• Admit card availability:
  May 11, 2026 (10:00 AM) to May 17, 2026 (2:30 PM)

• JEE Advanced 2026 examination date:
  May 17, 2026

  • Paper 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

  • Paper 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

• Candidate response sheets release:
  May 21, 2026 (5:00 PM)

• Provisional answer key publication:
  May 25, 2026 (10:00 AM)

• Answer key challenge window:
  May 25 to May 26, 2026

• Final answer key and result declaration:

• Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026 registration:
  June 1 to June 2, 2026

• AAT 2026 examination:

• AAT 2026 result announcement:

• Tentative start of JoSAA 2026 counselling:
  June 2, 2026 (5:00 PM)

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Pattern

JEE Advanced 2026 will consist of two mandatory papers, both to be attempted on the same day:

• Paper 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

• Paper 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Candidates must appear for both papers to be considered eligible for ranking. The question papers will be available in English and Hindi.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2026

Only candidates who secure a position among the top 2.5 lakh rank holders in JEE Main 2026 will be permitted to apply for JEE Advanced 2026.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2026 in two phases:

• Session 1: January 21 to January 30, 2026

• Session 2: April 1 to April 10, 2026
