Description

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has published a revised notification for Group D Recruitment 2025, announcing 406 vacancies across various departments of the Punjab state government. Released under Advertisement No. 08 of 2025, the recruitment drive is aimed at matriculation-qualified candidates for filling essential support and attendant-level positions in government offices.

The Board has also extended the last date for online applications to January 3, 2026. The selection process will include a written examination followed by document verification, in accordance with state recruitment guidelines. Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, offering a secure entry into Punjab government service for Class 10 pass applicants.

Vacancy Details and Post Categories

As per the revised notification, the total number of vacancies has been increased to 406. The recruitment includes multiple Group D posts such as Attendant, Watchman, Office Helper, Laboratory Attendant, and other similar support staff roles across government institutions in Punjab. Eligibility Conditions

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have cleared Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board. Candidates are required to have Punjabi as a subject at the matriculation level, either as a compulsory or elective subject.

Age Criteria

The minimum age limit is 18 years, while the maximum age for candidates in the general category is 37 years, as per the cut-off date specified in the notification. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories, ex-servicemen, and other eligible groups in accordance with Punjab government norms.

Selection Procedure

The recruitment process will be conducted in two stages:

  • Written Examination: An objective-type test to evaluate candidates’ general knowledge, basic reasoning skills, language proficiency, and role-specific understanding.

  • Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted from the written examination will be required to present original documents for verification.

Final selection will be made purely on the basis of merit and fulfillment of all eligibility requirements.

Pay Scale and Benefits

Candidates selected for Group D posts will be placed under Pay Level-1 of the 7th CPC, with a monthly salary ranging from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900, along with applicable allowances as per Punjab government rules. These are regular state government positions, governed by standard service conditions.
