Description
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has uploaded the provisional answer key for the Junior Engineer (JE) 2025 Paper 1 examination on its official website. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their individual response sheets and answer keys to verify their responses and assess their expected scores. The Paper 1 examination for civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering posts was held between December 3 and December 6, 2025.
Along with the answer key, SSC has activated the facility for candidates to challenge the provisional answers. The objection window will remain open until December 22, 2025. After examining all valid representations, the commission will release the final answer key. Only candidates who clear Paper 1 will be allowed to appear for Paper 2.

Candidates can obtain their response sheets and answer keys by visiting ssc.gov.in and following these steps:
First visit the official website.
Now click on the link related to the SSC JE 2025 provisional answer key.
Log in using the registration number and password.
View the response sheet and corresponding answer key.
Download and save the document for future reference.
The answer key enables candidates to cross-check their answers with the official responses and calculate their tentative marks ahead of the result announcement.

Steps to Challenge the Answer Key
Candidates who notice any errors in the provisional answer key may submit objections by following the process below:
Log in to the SSC portal using valid credentials.
Click on the “Challenge Answer Key” option.
Choose the question(s) they wish to challenge.
Upload supporting justification and relevant documents.
Pay the prescribed Rs 50 fee per question through online mode.
Submit the objection within the stipulated time.
SSC will evaluate all objections received within the deadline and make corrections, if required, before finalising the answer key.
Objection Deadline
The commission has specified that the objection facility will remain active until 6 PM on December 22, 2025. Challenges submitted after this time will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to raise objections only with valid evidence to ensure proper review.
What Happens Next
Once the objection review process is completed, SSC will publish the final answer key, which will be used to determine candidates’ scores. The SSC JE Paper 1 result will be declared thereafter. Candidates qualifying in Paper 1 will advance to Paper 2, which consists of descriptive questions. Final selection will be based on performance in both stages, in accordance with SSC norms.
