The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the provisional results for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025 on November 21, 2025. These results determine candidates’ eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professors in Karnataka and are prepared following UGC norms and the State reservation policy.
The KSET 2025 examination was held offline on November 2, 2025, in a single session across 11 district centres for 33 subjects. Of the 1,34,826 registered candidates, 1,21,052 appeared for both Paper I and Paper II. The provisional answer keys were released earlier on the KEA website, and expert committees evaluated all objections before the provisional scores were announced on November 15, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria And Selection Method
A total of 6% of candidates who appeared for both papers are considered for eligibility slots.
Merit lists are prepared subject-wise and category-wise based on combined marks from Paper I and II.
Minimum qualifying marks:
General category: 40% (120/300)
Reserved categories: 35% (105/300)
Fractional figures in slot calculation are rounded to the nearest whole number, ensuring at least one slot per subject.
Candidates meeting the prescribed cut-off are included in the qualified list, even if the total exceeds the allocated slots.
This year, 8,383 candidates qualified across 33 subjects, surpassing the 7,263 available slots. Detailed information including subject-wise registrations, eligibility numbers, qualified candidates, category distribution, cut-off scores and application numbers is available on the KEA portal. KEA has also instructed candidates not to request category modifications, as they are final based on the information provided at the time of application.
On November 15, 2025, KEA had also issued several important updates, including the provisional results link, final answer key and objection submission facility.
