Description

The 10th International Gita Festival 2025 has begun in Kurukshetra, offering a three-week celebration of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. The festival attracts devotees, scholars, and visitors from across India and abroad, reflecting the worldwide reverence for the Bhagavad Gita and the historic significance of Kurukshetra.

Festival Duration And Highlights

Running from 15 November to 5 December 2025, the festival presents a vibrant mix of spiritual, cultural, and educational activities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the festivities on 25 November. The partner state, Madhya Pradesh, is showcasing its rich traditions through a dedicated pavilion, craft exhibitions, and authentic culinary experiences.

Growing International Presence

Since its inception in 2016, the festival has expanded globally, with events held in countries such as Mauritius, the UK, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, and Japan. This year, 51 countries are expected to participate. A three-day International Gita Seminar from 24–26 November at Kurukshetra University will feature 25 scholars from 16 nations. Priests from Fiji and Trinidad and Tobago will take part in ceremonial activities, while artisans from seven countries will display their crafts.

Cultural Programs And Devotional Activities

From 24 November to 1 December, Purushottampura Bagh will host cultural performances inspired by the Gita, Mahabharata, and Lord Krishna. A Gita Shobha Yatra is scheduled on 1 December, accompanied by Deepotsav celebrations at 182 sacred sites across Kurukshetra.

Students can engage in competitions including shloka recitation, essay writing, painting, and rangoli, between 28 and 30 November. Additionally, the Gita Book Fair at Brahma Sarovar will feature works from leading Indian publishers.

Safety And Crowd Management

In light of recent security concerns, authorities have enhanced safety measures around festival venues. Law enforcement agencies are coordinating crowd control, traffic management, and event logistics to ensure a secure and seamless experience for all visitors.

With its combination of international participation, cultural programs, and scholarly seminars, the 10th International Gita Festival promises an enriching spiritual and cultural experience for attendees from India and around the world.
