PM Modi to Inaugurate South India Natural Farming Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Coimbatore on November 19 to launch the South India Natural Farming Summit at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex. The summit is envisioned as a major regional platform to push forward natural and organic farming, bringing together experts, policymakers and farmer communities from across the southern states.

Purpose Of Summit

This year’s summit places strong emphasis on shifting farmers toward natural cultivation techniques, restoring soil fertility and minimising the use of synthetic chemicals. Organisers plan to introduce sustainable farming models that suit the varied landscapes of South India. Multiple technical discussions and training sessions are scheduled to benefit both large-scale growers and small farmers exploring eco-friendly methods.

PM Modi’s Participation

During the inaugural programme, the Prime Minister is expected to address attendees and hold an interactive session with nearly 50 specialists working in organic and natural agriculture. His visit will be brief—he will arrive in Coimbatore in the early afternoon and return to Delhi soon after the opening ceremony.

What the Three-Day Event Will Feature

More than 300 stalls will be set up to present bio-based farm inputs, new agricultural technologies and tools used in natural farming. The summit will also include live demonstrations, expert-led classes and activities aimed at engaging young people. A special focus has been placed on encouraging the involvement of women farmers and emerging agri-entrepreneurs.

Security Preparations In City

Coimbatore police have already intensified security arrangements ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit. Around 3,000 personnel will be positioned across important locations, including the summit venue and adjoining areas. Senior officials have carried out detailed inspections to ensure smooth movement, crowd regulation and flawless adherence to protocol during the event.
