The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced the official timetable for the GATE 2026 examination. As per the released schedule, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The institute has also provided detailed session timings and exam slots for all 30 subject papers.
Each exam day is divided into two sessions the forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates can now check and confirm their paper code, date, and slot through the official website.
The national-level entrance exam is administered on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, under the Ministry of Education. The registration process for GATE 2026 began on August 28, 2025, and applicants are advised to visit the official portal for complete instructions and paper-wise details.

GATE 2026 Admit Card And Exam Centre Information
Admit cards for GATE 2026 will be released on the official website. After downloading the admit card, candidates must verify all personal and exam-related details, including:
Name
Paper code
Session timing
Examination centre
The complete address of the exam centre will be printed on the admit card. Candidates should arrive at least one hour before the exam begins. Entry will be allowed only upon presenting the admit card along with a valid government-issued photo ID.
Important Exam Day Instructions
GATE 2026 will be held exclusively in CBT mode.
Only the virtual calculator provided on the screen may be used.
Personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, and smart gadgets are not allowed inside the exam hall.
All exam-day rules and security protocols issued by the conducting authority must be followed.
Violating any guidelines may lead to disqualification.
