Description
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued a detailed advisory for candidates allotted seats in NBEMS-accredited hospitals through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 under the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
Candidates have been urged to thoroughly review the counselling schedule, information bulletin, counselling scheme, and other related notifications available on the MCC’s official website and complete all formalities within the specified deadlines.
Document Verification And Medical Examination
During the reporting or joining process, candidates must present all original documents at the NBEMS-accredited institution for verification. The respective hospital will verify the candidates’ eligibility as per the official information bulletin.
Additionally, candidates must undergo a medical examination conducted by the hospital’s Medical Board. Only those declared medically fit will be permitted to join the programme. Therefore, applicants are advised to report with all required documents and be prepared for medical evaluation.
Payment Of Annual Course Fee
All candidates allotted seats under NBEMS must pay the first-year annual course fee online through the NBEMS official portal
The payment receipt must be presented at the time of reporting or joining. Failure to submit proof of payment will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, which will then be made available in the next counselling round.
NBEMS has emphasized that the fee must be paid strictly within the reporting window notified by the MCC, and no extension or relaxation will be granted.
Updating Of Reporting And Joining Status
Once candidates have reported and completed the joining process, the respective hospital must update their reporting and joining status on the Intra-MCC portal within the prescribed time.
If this status is not updated, the seat will be considered vacant and may be reallocated in subsequent counselling rounds. Candidates are advised to follow up with their reporting institution to ensure that the update has been completed accurately.
NBEMS Online Portal For Joining and Registration (OPJR)
The NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) will remain inactive during ongoing counselling rounds. It will be activated only after all rounds of MCC counselling conclude.
Once active, both candidates and hospitals will have to upload final joining details and required documents through the OPJR portal. NBEMS will acknowledge the final reporting and joining details exclusively via this platform.
Commencement Of NBEMS Training
Candidates must report and join their NBEMS training strictly within the designated reporting/joining period announced for their counselling round. No extension of deadlines will be permitted.
For candidates upgraded in later rounds, the training period will begin from the date of joining the upgraded seat. For others, it will start from the date of commencement of postgraduate duties as resident doctors.
Instructions For In-Service Doctors
Candidates employed in central or state government departments, railways, public sector undertakings (PSUs), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), or other government organisations must produce a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) and study leave approval from their employer at the time of joining.
Failure to provide these documents may result in seat cancellation.
