Description

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a directive to all affiliated schools instructing them to provide Class 11 registration numbers to students applying for the JEE Main 2026 Examination. The official notice regarding this requirement is available on the NTA JEE website.

According to the CBSE notice, the National Testing Agency (NTA) now mandates that students must enter their Class 11 registration number while filling out the JEE Main 2026 application form. Therefore, schools are responsible for ensuring that all eligible students receive their registration numbers without delay.

Despite earlier instructions, the Board has received several complaints from parents and students stating that many Class 12 students appearing for JEE Main 2026 have not yet been provided with their Class 11 registration details. Taking note of these grievances, CBSE has reiterated its directive to schools to immediately issue the registration numbers to students to avoid any inconvenience during the application process.

The JEE Main 2026 registration process is currently active, with the deadline set for November 27, 2025. The exam city intimation slip will be released in the first week of January 2026, and the examination is scheduled to take place from January 21 to January 30, 2026. The test will be conducted in two sessions daily the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

For more details, students are advised to visit the official website of CBSE and NTA JEE.
