Description

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Reserve List for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, announcing the selection of 114 additional candidates. Among them, 94 are from the General category, 5 from EWS, 13 from OBC, 1 from SC, and 1 from ST category. These candidates will now proceed for allocation to IAS, IFS, IPS, and other Central Group A/B services.

Why Was the Reserve List Issued?

After the declaration of the main merit list, UPSC had initially recommended 1,009 candidates for appointment. However, due to unfilled vacancies across various categories, a reserve list was prepared as per official guidelines. This additional list ensures all available posts are filled fairly and efficiently.

Category-Wise Distribution of the New Selections:

1. General: 94 candidates

2. EWS: 5 candidates

3. OBC: 13 candidates

4. SC: 1 candidate

5. ST: 1 candidate

The details of these candidates will be forwarded to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for further processing.

What’s Next for the Selected Candidates?

1. The selected candidates will receive official notifications regarding service allocation, cadre preferences, and training schedules.

2. Candidates must keep their educational certificates, medical documents, and verification records ready for the next stages.

3. The complete PDF list of selected roll numbers and names is available on the official UPSC website (upsc.gov.in) — candidates are advised to check their details carefully.
