The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to start the application process for JEE Main 2026 in October or November this year, instead of the usual February–March schedule. The exam will be conducted in two sessions — the first in January 2026 and the second in April 2026.
Application Process:
1. Candidates will need to register on the official NTA website, providing personal details, board examination information, educational qualifications, and preferred exam centers.
2. After registration, candidates must upload their photograph and signature and pay the application fee online.
3. A correction window may also be made available after the submission process for rectifying errors.
Eligibility and Marks Criteria:
1. Students who have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.
2. While no minimum percentage is required to appear in JEE Main, admission to premier institutes like NITs and IIITs generally requires:
a. 75% marks in Class 12 for General category candidates, and
b. 65% marks for candidates from reserved categories.
3. The JEE Main 2025 cut-off was around 93 percentile for the General category.
