The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has officially announced the Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test (MP SET) 2025. The examination serves as a qualifying test for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in colleges and universities across the state. Interested and eligible applicants can submit their forms through the official portals within the prescribed dates mentioned in the notification.
MP SET 2025: Important Dates
According to the official schedule released by MPPSC, the key dates for the MP SET 2025 recruitment process are as follows:
Commencement of Online Application: October 25, 2025
Last Date to Submit Application: November 20, 2025
Application Correction Window: October 30 to November 22, 2025
Examination Date: January 11, 2026
MPPSC has also provided candidates with options to apply after the deadline by paying late fees, ensuring maximum participation for aspirants who miss the regular window.
MP SET 2025: Examination Fee
Candidates are required to pay the examination fee as per their category:
For SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwBD candidates from Madhya Pradesh: Rupees 250 + Rupees 40 portal fee
For all other candidates: Rupees 500 + Rupees 40 portal fee
In case of any corrections in the application form, candidates must pay an additional Rupees 50 per correction.
Late Fee Details:
Applications submitted between November 21 and November 28, 2025, will incur a late fee of Rupees 3,000 + Rupees 40 portal fee.
Applications submitted from November 29, 2025, up to 10 days before the examination date will require a late fee of Rupees 25,000 + Rupees 40 portal fee.
MP SET 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the educational qualifications and other criteria set by MPPSC to be eligible for the examination.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have completed a postgraduate degree from a recognized university or institution established under a Central or State Act, or recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Those who are currently pursuing their final year of postgraduation (third or fourth semester) are also eligible to apply.
Minimum Marks Required:
General/Unreserved and OBC (Creamy Layer) candidates: Minimum 55% marks in postgraduation.
SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwBD candidates: Minimum 50% marks in postgraduation.
Provisional Eligibility:
Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of their postgraduation and are awaiting results may also apply. However, they must fulfill the eligibility criteria before being appointed as Assistant Professors.
Relaxation for Ph.D. Holders:
Candidates possessing a Ph.D. degree and whose postgraduate examination was completed before September 19, 1991, are granted a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks (from 55% to 50%).
Candidates with Foreign Degrees:
Applicants holding postgraduate degrees, diplomas, or certificates from foreign universities are eligible to apply. However, they must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, confirming that their qualification matches the standard of Indian postgraduate degrees.

Download and take a printout of the confirmation page for your records.
