The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has extended the registration deadline for IIT JAM 2026. The last date to apply for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026 is now October 20, 2025. Candidates can submit their applications online through the official website.

To apply, candidates must first register on the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by providing their name, valid email address, active mobile number, and setting a password. After successful registration, the Enrollment ID and OTP will be sent to the registered email and mobile number.

Steps To Apply For IIT JAM 2026

• First visit the official website.

• Click on the IIT JAM 2026 registration link on the homepage

• Enter the required registration details on the new page

• Fill in the application form after successful registration

• Pay the application fee online

• Submit the form and download the confirmation page

• Keep a hard copy for future reference

IIT JAM 2026 Exam Details

The exam will be conducted on February 15, 2026, in two sessions and in computer-based test mode. There are seven test papers at the postgraduate level. The question types will include:

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

• Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)

• Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions

Candidates may appear for one or two test papers.

Application Fee

• Female/SC/ST/PwD category: Rs 1,000 for one test paper, Rs 1,350 for two test papers

• All other categories: Rs 2,000 for one test paper, Rs 2,700 for two test papers

Candidates who wish to change their category, gender, examination city, or date of birth can do so with an additional fee of Rs 300. Changes to add or modify test papers in the submitted application are also allowed with an additional fee of Rs 300 before November 10, 2025.
