The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially opened the GATE 2026 registration process on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Interested candidates can apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) through the official portal by logging in with their Enrolment ID and Password.

Important Dates

  • Last date to apply (without late fee): September 28, 2025

  • Last date to apply (with late fee): October 9, 2025

  • Exam dates: February 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2026

  • Result declaration: March 19, 2026

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be in their third year or higher of a degree programme or should have completed a degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities from a recognised institution.
Candidates with equivalent qualifications from foreign universities are also eligible to apply.

Application Fee

  • Female / SC / ST / PwD candidates:

    • Rs 1,000 per paper (regular period)

    • Rs 1,500 per paper (extended period)

  • All other candidates:

    • Rs 2,000 per paper (regular period)

    • Rs 2,500 per paper (extended period)
