Key Guidelines For Candidates
All GATE 2026 examinations will be held only in English.
Candidates applying for two papers must choose their secondary paper from the officially approved list; other combinations will not be accepted during registration.
IIT Guwahati has stated that new paper combinations may be added later, depending on infrastructure and exam scheduling feasibility.
Due to logistical reasons, the exam centres for the two papers may differ, though they will remain within the same city.
In rare situations, some combinations may be withdrawn. If this happens, the registration fee for the second paper will be refunded.
GATE 2026 Exam Dates & Registration
The GATE 2026 exam will take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, with two sessions scheduled per day. The registration process will begin on August 25, 2025, through the official website.
