Dhruva Space, a fast-growing Indian space technology startup, is gearing up for the launch of its first commercial satellite mission, named LEAP-1. Overview Of LEAP-1 Mission
The LEAP-1 (Launch, Early orbit, and Payload demonstration) mission represents Dhruva Space’s debut into commercial space operations. Nexus-01 by Akula Tech
Nexus-01 is a pioneering payload developed by Akula Tech that integrates an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) module on board.
This AI system is designed to process satellite data in real time using machine learning (ML) algorithms and allows for onboard retraining using live sensor inputs.
Key applications include:
Wildfire detection
Spectral data analysis
Rapid situational awareness for disaster management
The payload continuously evolves through real-time data, thereby enhancing decision-making without depending entirely on ground stations.
OTR-2 by Esper Satellites
The second payload, named OTR-2, comes from Esper Satellites and is equipped with a next-generation hyperspectral imaging system.
This imager is capable of capturing spectrally rich data across multiple wavelengths, far beyond what standard optical sensors can achieve.
The collected data is made accessible through Esper's proprietary EarthTones API, enabling seamless access and integration into remote sensing platforms.
