Application Start Date: August 25, 2025 (Monday)
Regular Registration Deadline: September 25, 2025 (Thursday)
Extended Registration Deadline (with Late Fee): October 6, 2025 (Monday)
GATE 2026 Exam Dates: February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026
Result Declaration: March 19, 2026
GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates currently in the third year or higher of any undergraduate degree, or those who have already completed degrees in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities from recognized institutions are eligible.
Those holding certifications recognized by MoE, AICTE, UGC, or UPSC as equivalent to traditional degrees such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Planning may also apply.
International students or candidates with foreign degrees meeting equivalent educational standards can register for the exam as well.
GATE 2026 Application Fees:
During Regular Period:
Rs 1,000 per paper – Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates
Rs 2,000 per paper – All other candidates
During Extended Period:
Rs 1,500 per paper – Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates
Rs 2,500 per paper – All other candidates

Admission Opportunities Through GATE:
Qualified candidates can use their GATE scores to apply for:
M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. and similar Master’s programs
Direct Ph.D. admissions in relevant disciplines at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government bodies
Financial Assistance:
M.Tech students may receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400 for up to 22 months.
For Direct Ph.D. candidates (after B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. with valid GATE scores):
Rs 37,000/month for the first two years
Rs 42,000/month for the next three years
