Description
The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced a recruitment drive for 1,481 posts through the Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (CGL 2025). The online application process will begin on August 18 and will remain open until September 17, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official website.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility requirements, including educational and technical qualifications, vary by post. Applicants must be between 21 and 37 years of age as of the prescribed cut-off date. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation according to government norms. More detailed information is available in the official notification.
Selection Process
If the number of applications exceeds 40,000, the commission will conduct a preliminary examination with objective-type questions to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
Candidates selected for the mains examination will be shortlisted at a 1:5 ratio (five times the number of total vacancies).
A separate notification will be released for the mains examination.
Preliminary Exam Pattern
The preliminary examination will assess candidates on the following subjects:
General Studies
General Science and Mathematics
Mental Ability (Comprehension, Reasoning, and Logical Thinking)
Exam Format:
Total Questions: 150
Marks per Question: 4
Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer
Language Medium: Hindi and English (In case of any conflict, the English version will be considered final)
Important Exam Guidelines
Candidates will be allowed to carry only one textbook per subject (General Studies, General Science & Math, Mental Ability) to the exam centre. Acceptable books include those published by:
NCERT
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB)
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)
Other materials such as guidebooks, photocopies, handwritten notes, and electronic gadgets will be strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
