About Meri Panchayat Mobile App
The Meri Panchayat app is a comprehensive digital governance tool tailored to serve the needs of rural citizens, elected Panchayat representatives, and key stakeholders within the Panchayati Raj framework. It aims to bridge the digital divide by offering a unified platform that streamlines administrative processes and fosters participatory governance in villages across India.
Key Features and Capabilities
Unified Digital Interface: The app integrates functionalities that were previously scattered across various government portals into a single, user-friendly platform.
Real-Time Financial Transparency: Users can access up-to-date data on Panchayat budgets, income, expenditures, and ongoing development projects.
Project Tracking and Proposal Submission: Citizens can propose new projects, track existing initiatives, and view Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs).
Elected Representative Information: Residents can view profiles and contact details of their Panchayat officials, fostering greater transparency and accountability.
Access to Civic Infrastructure Data: Information on roads, water supply, sanitation, and other public assets is readily available.
Weather Forecasting at Local Level: Provides localized weather updates down to the Gram Panchayat level.
Social Auditing Tools: Empowers citizens with data on fund usage, enabling oversight through geo-tagging and geo-fencing features.
Multilingual Accessibility: The app supports over 12 Indian languages, ensuring inclusivity across linguistically diverse rural populations.
Enhanced Civic Engagement: Users can rate completed works, access Gram Sabha agendas and resolutions, and participate in grievance redressal processes.
This initiative was jointly developed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Its design reflects the Indian government’s commitment to leveraging technology for decentralized and transparent governance.

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prize is a global recognition initiative that celebrates outstanding ICT-based projects that contribute meaningfully to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
