Description

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has launched the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana, a visionary initiative aimed at developing rural areas into model self-sustaining villages. Alongside this flagship scheme, the state Cabinet has also cleared major proposals related to infrastructure, education, social welfare, and public security.

Overview Of Vrindavan Gram Yojana

Under the new scheme, one village from each legislative assembly constituency meeting criteria of a minimum population of 2,000 and at least 500 bovines will be selected for comprehensive development. These villages, designated as 'Vrindavan Grams,' will integrate cultural heritage, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.

The program aims to promote:

  • Cow-based rural economy

  • Organic and natural farming

  • Solar energy adoption

  • Water conservation

  • Spiritual and eco-conscious living

Infrastructure And Public Facilities

Each Vrindavan Gram will be equipped with six essential infrastructure categories, including:

  • Cow shelters (gaushalas)

  • Health and wellness centres

  • Schools and libraries

  • Veterinary hospitals and biogas units

  • Solar-powered drinking water facilities

  • Cow heritage memorials and cremation grounds

Upgrades will also be made in areas like internal road networks, solar street lighting, irrigation systems, public toilets, eco-parks, and digital governance through e-Panchayats.

Economic Development And Employment Generation

The scheme aims to boost rural livelihoods through:

  • Milk collection centres

  • Forest produce-based and agro-processing units

  • Artisan workshops and skill development hubs

Expansion of dairy cooperatives and promotion of rainwater harvesting and pond rejuvenation will support agriculture and water sustainability, making villages more resilient and economically independent.

Focus On Environmental Sustainability And Cultural Identity

Environmental conservation is a central theme. The initiative encourages natural farming practices to reduce chemical dependency and promote soil health. Restoration of spiritual landmarks and rural tourism through homestays are also part of the plan to blend tradition with economic opportunity.

Governance improvements include 100% e-KYC coverage and digitally updated land records, along with a push for better nutrition, hygiene, and planned development.

Major Cabinet Approvals Alongside Scheme

Several other major proposals were approved, including:

  • Rupees 4,572 crore allocated to rebuild 1,766 damaged bridges across the state by 2030 to improve all-season connectivity.

  • A new campus of the Rashtriya Raksha University to be established in Bhopal, enhancing national security education and job prospects.

  • Introduction of mess services in 108 hostels for backward class students, backed by a Rupees 31 crore budget.

  • Approval of 1,266 new government posts, including 202 forensic scientific officers, to support the implementation of updated criminal laws.

Enhanced Support For Tribal And SC Communities

To better serve Scheduled Castes and Tribal populations, new district coordination offices will be set up in Maihar, Mauganj, and Pandhurna. The plan includes the sanctioning of 48 new posts and an annual budget of Rupees 3.81 crore, aimed at improving administration and outreach in these communities.
