Description

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has rescheduled the 71st Integrated Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025. Initially planned for September 10, the exam will now be held on September 13.

In a related update, the commission announced that the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Preliminary Examination, advertised under notification number 37/2025, will now take place on September 10, instead of the previously planned date of September 13.

This change was confirmed through an official notice issued by the Examination Controller, available on the BPSC official website.

Additionally, BPSC recently revised the total vacancies for the 71st CCE by adding 34 more posts, increasing the total number of openings to 1,298.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying must hold a graduate or equivalent degree and meet the age criteria specified for each post.

Exam Pattern And Fee Details

The Preliminary examination functions as a screening stage for the Mains exam and consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

  • Total Questions: 150

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each incorrect answer

Applicants were required to pay a biometric fee of Rupees 200, along with an application fee of Rupees 600. However, SC/ST candidates from Bihar, female residents of Bihar, and PwD candidates (with 40% or more disability) paid a reduced fee of Rupees 150.
