On June 30, 2025, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel formally launched the Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan in Gandhinagar, initiating a major nationwide campaign aimed at ensuring universal access to essential social security schemes. The Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan marks the beginning of a three-month intensive outreach campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025. The campaign is intended to identify and cover eligible beneficiaries who have so far remained outside the purview of key financial protection and pension schemes. The overarching objective is to achieve 100% coverage of eligible citizens under major government-backed financial protection schemes. The campaign will also bridge awareness gaps regarding digital fraud and improve documentation compliance.

• Identifying eligible citizens who have not yet availed scheme benefits.

• Facilitating on-the-spot enrolment and service delivery.

• Promoting digital financial literacy and awareness about cyber fraud.

• Encouraging citizens to update Know Your Customer (KYC) details and open new Jan Dhan accounts.

Schemes Covered Under Campaign

The campaign focuses on the following flagship social welfare programs:

• Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY): A low-cost life insurance scheme.

• Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY): An affordable accidental insurance cover.

• Atal Pension Yojana (APY): A pension scheme aimed at workers in the unorganised sector.

• Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY): A zero-balance bank account scheme focused on financial inclusion.

• 1.93 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened in the state so far.

• Over ?21,409 crore has been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanisms.

• Around 90 lakh individuals are covered under the PMJJBY scheme.

• 1.92 crore citizens have enrolled in the PMSBY scheme.

Implementation Strategy

To achieve effective outreach and ensure localised execution, the campaign will be implemented through district-level action plans:

• District Collectors and urban local bodies will lead the planning and coordination efforts.

• Active collaboration with banks, government departments, and field-level officers will ensure service delivery at the grassroots.

• Use of video conferencing technology will help connect remote districts and enhance accessibility to campaign events and training.
