The Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library Society (PMML) has initiated legal proceedings to recover the Private Papers of Jawaharlal Nehru currently held by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. During a recent Annual General Meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, members emphasized that these papers are of immense historical value and should be preserved as part of the national archive. The documents were originally donated to the museum by Nehru’s family, but their withdrawal in 2008 by Sonia Gandhi has remained a point of dispute.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Papers consist of critical documents chronicling India’s journey before and after independence.
